Spotify has introduced a new user interface (UI) specifically designed for tablet users. The streaming platform’s updated tablet app now features adaptive orientation, automatically switching between portrait and landscape layouts based on how the device is held—rather than merely resizing the interface.
The refreshed design includes a collapsible sidebar, allowing listeners to maximize screen space when watching music videos or podcasts. Additionally, the app now supports parallel browsing, enabling users to continue scrolling through content while a video or lyrics remain visible in the sidebar. The "switch to video" toggle has also been made more prominent for easier access.
The new tablet UI was previously available to some users during testing phases earlier in 2024. The final version is now rolling out to both iPad and Android tablet devices.
