Staples is bringing Party City to over 700 of its stores nationwide, just in time for graduation season. The office supply retailer is introducing Party City shop-in-shops, where customers can purchase party supplies and decorations, including balloons, gift bags, and favors. Helium balloon inflation will also be available at these locations.

In addition to in-store offerings, customers can order celebration essentials like personalized invitations, banners, and posters through Staples’ same-day print and marketing services. The partnership was announced in a joint news release on April 21, 2026.

Party City products will also be available for purchase on Staples.com as part of the collaboration.

Where Are the Party City Shop-in-Shops Located?

The 700+ Party City at Staples locations currently operate in 34 states. Shoppers can find their nearest location using the store locator tool. Staples plans to expand the shop-in-shops to more stores by the end of 2026.

Staples and Party City’s Partnership Aims to Simplify Celebrations

Marshall Warkentin, President of Staples U.S. Retail, highlighted the convenience of the new partnership:

“By bringing Party City into Staples stores, we’re expanding what customers can accomplish in one place—combining helium balloons and party supplies with our print and marketing services to offer a complete solution for celebrations, from graduations to grand openings and everything in between.”

Both Brands Adapt to Changing Markets

Both Staples and Party City have faced significant challenges in recent years. Staples has been reducing its U.S. store count to fewer than 1,000 as it shifts toward e-commerce and business-to-business services, citing declining foot traffic and reduced demand for traditional office supplies.

Party City’s struggles were even more pronounced. The party supply retailer filed for bankruptcy twice—first in January 2023 and again in December 2024—leading to plans to close all of its stores. However, this partnership with Staples marks a strategic revival for Party City.

‘Staples Baddie’ Helps Amplify the Partnership

Kaeden Rowland, a Staples print specialist nicknamed “Staples Baddie,” has played a key role in promoting the retailer’s offerings. Rowland went viral in early 2026 after posting TikTok videos showcasing Staples’ products and services while on the clock. Her content has since amassed nearly 600,000 TikTok followers.

Rowland’s videos highlight lesser-known Staples products and services, and the brand has embraced her success through collaborations and paid partnerships. She was among the first to share news of the Party City partnership with her audience, further boosting visibility for the initiative.
