Stephen Colbert dedicated much of his Monday night monologue to celebrating May the 4th with fellow Star Wars fans, but the CBS late-night host also found time to mock President Donald Trump.
Colbert’s jab came after Trump shared a meme on Truth Social following his rejection of Iran’s one-month proposal to end the war.
The comedian highlighted an inconsistency in Trump’s post, which featured an image of the president holding six wild cards.
"Trump rejected the offer, and yesterday he posted this image, saying, ‘I have all the cards,’" Colbert mocked. "Which, you may have seen this, is cool, except you might notice the cards Trump is holding are from the game Uno, where, quite famously, the object is to get rid of all your cards."
Colbert continued his impression, emphasizing Trump’s apparent misunderstanding of the game’s rules:
"‘I have so many cards, no, I have so many cards. Look at this. This idiot over here just played a Draw 4, I get to draw four more. I got so many cards — I got the three of hearts, I got the Blockbuster membership, Charizard."
The segment underscored Colbert’s satirical take on Trump’s political messaging, framing it as a playful critique through the lens of a popular card game.
The Late Show With Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS.
