Stephen Colbert delivered a sharp critique of Donald Trump’s age and negotiation claims during a segment on The Late Show on Tuesday, addressing reports that the president faces pressure to finalize a deal with Iran.

Colbert referenced Trump’s Truth Social post denying any urgency, saying:

"Trump claims he’s not sweating the deal, posting, ‘I read the fake news saying that I am under ‘pressure’ to make a deal. This is not true! I am under no pressure whatsoever, although, it will all happen, relatively quickly! Time is not my adversary.’"

The comedian then pivoted to a joke about Trump’s age, referencing the president’s 79 years and questioning his health. "Oh, yeah? Have you taken a gander at your ankles lately? It’s never a good sign when your shoes have a muffin top," Colbert quipped, as the show displayed an image of Trump’s swollen ankles.

Colbert also highlighted the ongoing delays in negotiations, noting that U.S. negotiators had postponed their trip to Islamabad, Pakistan, where talks were originally scheduled to begin. He wove in a humorous aside about Red Lobster’s return of endless shrimp, adding:

"I wonder how many shrimp that is."

According to the Associated Press, the conflict has resulted in at least 3,375 deaths in Iran and more than 2,290 in Lebanon since the war began.
