Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti made NFL history on Saturday by exercising his first-ever draft authority in franchise history. For the first time since acquiring the team, Bisciotti personally selected a player during the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
General Manager Eric DeCosta confirmed during a post-draft press conference that selecting former Clemson running back Adam Randall was Bisciotti's personal choice.
"When we were down in Florida, Steve was begging for a draft pick and he owns the team," DeCosta said via the team's official website. "I said, 'Yes, Steve, of course you can have a draft pick.' So we decided on our last fifth-round pick. He did his research and studied the tape, talked to people. He has a really good relationship with the Clemson head coach."
Randall's collegiate production stood out to Bisciotti. During the 2024 season at Clemson, Randall carried the ball 168 times for 814 yards and 10 touchdowns while adding 36 receptions for 254 yards and three additional scores under head coach Dabo Swinney.
However, Randall's path to playing time with the Ravens faces significant competition. The team's backfield already features established veterans Derrick Henry, Justice Hill, and Rasheen Ali, making Randall's roster spot and potential contributions uncertain.
