Tesla has discontinued Deep Blue Metallic and introduced two new blue paint colors for the Model 3 and Model Y in the United States: Marine Blue and Frost Blue Metallic.
The first new color, Marine Blue, is available for the Premium Rear-Wheel Drive and Premium All-Wheel Drive versions of the Model 3 and Model Y. This deep shade replaces the brighter Deep Blue Metallic and adds $1,000 to the vehicle’s price in the U.S. In Canada, the upgrade costs CA$1,300 (approximately US$940).
For budget-conscious buyers, the entry-level Rear-Wheel Drive and All-Wheel Drive versions of the Model 3 and Model Y remain limited to Stealth Grey, Pearl White Multi-Coat, and Diamond Black.
Frost Blue Metallic: A Free Performance Exclusive
The second new color, Frost Blue Metallic, is exclusive to the Model 3 Performance and Model Y Performance. This color was previously offered on the discontinued Model S and Model X. Notably, Frost Blue Metallic is a no-cost option for eligible Performance models in the U.S.
In Canada, Frost Blue Metallic has also been introduced for the Model 3 Performance, though its availability for the Model Y Performance has not yet been confirmed.
"Of all the colors that Tesla offers, Frost Blue Metallic might be our favorite, alongside Ultra Red."
