Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken recently shared his perspective on rookie wide receiver KC Concepcion, drawing comparisons to his former player Zay Flowers during his tenure with the Baltimore Ravens.

Monken, who spent the past three years overseeing the Ravens' offense, played a key role in developing Flowers. The 2023 first-round pick thrived under Monken’s guidance, earning two Pro Bowl selections while accumulating 237 catches for 3,128 yards and 14 touchdowns over three seasons.

This year, the Browns selected Concepcion with one of their first-round picks. Monken sees potential parallels between the two receivers, emphasizing their shared attributes and dedication.

Monken Praises Concepcion’s Work Ethic and Potential

"There are some traits that are similar to [Flowers]," Monken said, via Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com. "But I love when people spoke about KC, it reminded me of Zay in that, in terms of how he practiced, what he brings in every day. And if you're looking for that comparison, that I can compare, I believe he's going to bring that like Zay did."

While Flowers benefited from playing alongside Lamar Jackson in Baltimore, the Browns currently lack a similarly established franchise quarterback. Monken acknowledged this uncertainty but expressed confidence that Concepcion’s quick adaptation to NFL life will help him thrive regardless of who lines up under center.
