On April 21, 2026, Toei announced the establishment of Toei Games, a new publishing division dedicated to developing and releasing original video game intellectual properties (IPs). The division will begin with PC games on Steam, followed by releases on home consoles including the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch.
The first title from Toei Games will be revealed on April 24, 2026, though no release window has been confirmed. Unlike Toei’s existing franchises, these games will be entirely new IPs, not adaptations of existing properties. The company emphasized a global approach, stating in its press release that creators from both domestic and international backgrounds will contribute to the projects.
Toei Games has launched an official website and social media accounts to share updates and announcements. The division’s logo was designed by Kairosoft, a developer known for sprite-based simulation games such as Game Dev Story, Dungeon Village, and Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story.
The logo features a pixel-art animation inspired by Toei’s iconic opening sequence, Waves on the Rough Shore, from its animated projects. According to the press release, Toei Games representatives visited Kairosoft’s headquarters to commission the design.
Toei Company, founded in 1949, is a major Japanese entertainment conglomerate renowned for its anime, tokusatsu, period dramas, and films. Among its most famous franchises are Battle Royale, the Kamen Rider series, Dragon Ball, and One Piece. Toei Games marks the company’s official entry into game publishing, with its first title set to debut on April 24, 2026.
