The 2026 NFL Draft is less than 24 hours away, and the top of the draft order remains a mystery—except for the No. 1 overall pick, where the Las Vegas Raiders are expected to select quarterback Fernando Mendoza. Read SB Nation’s exclusive interview with Mendoza for insights into his journey from a two-star recruit to the projected No. 1 overall pick.
After the Raiders’ selection, the draft order becomes unpredictable. The New York Jets are reportedly weighing two defensive players at No. 2, while the Arizona Cardinals are exploring trade-down options from No. 3. The Tennessee Titans may opt for a running back at No. 4. The New York Giants, holding two top-10 picks, face a critical decision at No. 5.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler sparked speculation on Tuesday, suggesting a potential run on offensive tackles within the first 15 selections:
In talking to teams today, wouldn't surprise to see four OTs go in first 15-17 picks. Francis Mauigoa, Spencer Fano are consensus. Monroe Freeling, Kadyn Proctor have worked their way into conversation — feet, length, prototype LT and SEC pedigree. NFC exec: 'Would have said…

Fowler is not alone in this prediction. His ESPN colleague Dan Graziano also foresees a high number of offensive linemen being selected in the first round:
I’m predicting at least seven and as many as 10 offensive linemen get picked in the first round. There’s a late-round zone loaded with teams that would love to come out of Thursday night with a new offensive lineman, including the Lions, Panthers, Steelers, Chargers, Eagles, Browns, Bears, 49ers, Chiefs and Patriots. Kansas City could even use its No. 9 pick on an offensive tackle and no one would be surprised. Baltimore could take Ioane at No. 14, if he’s there.
In a recent mock draft, seven offensive linemen were projected to be selected, aligning with Graziano’s forecast. However, the predicted “run” on tackles may occur earlier than expected, with potential selections like Blake Miller by the Philadelphia Eagles at No. 23 and Max Iheanachor by the Cleveland Browns at No. 24.
The New York Giants remain a focal point of draft discussions, particularly regarding their plans for picks No. 5 and No. 10 following their trade for Dexter Lawrence. The team’s strategy continues to be a subject of intense speculation as the draft approaches.
