Amazon Considers 'Apprentice' Reboot with Donald Trump Jr. as Host

Amazon is reportedly exploring a revival of the hit competition series 'The Apprentice', with Donald Trump Jr. potentially set to host the new iteration.

Early-Stage Discussions Underway

According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, Amazon executives are in the early stages of discussing a reboot of the iconic show. While no formal approach has been made to the Trump family, the goal is for the series to stream on Amazon Prime Video.

A spokesperson for Amazon stated to the outlet:

"Since our acquisition of MGM, we have had preliminary internal discussions about what’s next for ‘The Apprentice’ as a property."

The spokesperson also clarified that the reboot remains in preliminary discussions and no host has been selected.

History of 'The Apprentice'

Donald Trump, the former U.S. president, originally hosted 'The Apprentice' for 14 seasons on NBC, where contestants competed for a job within his organization. The show’s success led to a celebrity spinoff, 'The Celebrity Apprentice', which aired for eight seasons between 2008 and 2017.

Arnold Schwarzenegger took over as host for the final season of 'The New Celebrity Apprentice' after Trump’s 2015 departure, following controversial remarks he made about Mexican immigrants during his presidential campaign announcement.

Amazon’s Growing Ties with the Trump Family

This potential reboot comes after Amazon acquired the documentary 'Melania', a film about former First Lady Melania Trump, further solidifying the company’s relationship with the Trump family.
