Apple TV has officially announced the return date for Silo Season 3, the critically acclaimed dystopian sci-fi series. The third season will premiere on July 3, 2025, with new episodes airing every Friday until September 4, 2025.

The streamer also released a short teaser trailer, which confirms long-standing rumors about a stronger emphasis on the show’s backstory. The trailer intercuts scenes from both the past and present, with protagonist Juliette, played by Rebecca Ferguson, delivering a voiceover:

"Before we can know why we’re here. Before we can know everything is as it is. Before we know how it all will end, we need to understand how it all began."

Ferguson’s narration alludes to the origins of the underground society within the silo, a central mystery in the series.

What Is Silo About?

Silo is an adaptation of Hugh Howey’s Wool book series. The show is set in a massive underground bunker called the Silo, home to approximately 10,000 people living in a post-apocalyptic world. Often compared to Fallout, the series avoids the franchise’s radioactive monsters and dark humor, instead focusing on survival, governance, and the secrets buried beneath the surface.

Cast Updates for Season 3

The returning cast for Season 3 includes:

  • Rebecca Ferguson as Juliette
  • Tim Robbins
  • Common
  • Steve Zahn

New additions to the cast for Season 3 are:

  • Colin Hanks
  • Jessica Henwick
  • Ashley Zukerman

Apple TV has already confirmed that Silo has been renewed for a fourth and final season.
