Brabus, known for its high-performance V8-powered vehicles, has shifted focus to electric mobility by partnering with French motorcycle manufacturer DAB to introduce three all-electric bikes. The lineup includes the DAB 1a Brabus, Brabus Urban E, and Brabus Urban E First Edition, designed for urban and inner-city use.

Brabus DAB 1a: Sleek and Stealthy

The DAB 1a Brabus boasts a black finish with exposed carbon fiber on the belly pan, front fender, and engine cover inserts. It features matte black wheel covers and an Alcantara seat with gray stitching, giving it a low-profile and stealthy aesthetic.

The bike is powered by a 7.1 kWh lithium-ion battery paired with a rear-mounted electric motor, delivering 31 hp and 291 lb-ft (395 Nm) of torque. Brabus claims the bike can reach a top speed of 93 mph (150 km/h) and sustain speeds up to 75 mph (120 km/h). Charging from 20% to 100% takes approximately 3 hours using a standard household plug.

Brabus Urban E: Enhanced Performance and Style

The Brabus Urban E upgrades the motor to 37 hp and 350 lb-ft (475 Nm) of torque. It includes carbon-fiber air ducts for improved motor cooling, gloss-black parts with red accents, and carbon-fiber wheel covers. Additional features include vertical DRLs, a Supermoto-style handlebar with CNC-machined aluminum levers, keyless start, and multiple riding modes: Eco, Street, Sport, Nitrous, and Reverse. The bike also comes with a fully adjustable suspension and upgraded Brembo brakes.

Brabus Urban E First Edition: Limited-Edition Luxury

The Urban E First Edition shares all the features of the standard Urban E but is offered in four exclusive colors: Peetch, Desert Sand, Superviolet, and Fusion Red. Each color variant is limited to just 10 units.

Pricing: A Premium Proposition

The pricing for these electric motorcycles reflects their premium positioning:

  • DAB 1a Brabus: €16,590 ($19,500)
  • Urban E: €20,800 ($24,400)
  • Urban E First Edition: €32,500 ($38,100)

For comparison, a BMW S 1000 RR, a top-tier superbike with 215 hp and loaded with features, is priced around €25,000 ($29,000). Despite the higher cost of Brabus' electric bikes, they offer significantly less power and performance compared to combustion-engine rivals, highlighting a trade-off between innovation and traditional performance metrics.
