The Cleveland Browns kicked off their spring minicamp on Tuesday with their first on-field session, and the quarterback rotation took center stage. Shedeur Sanders led the initial drills, drawing immediate attention from reporters during the post-practice press conference.
Head coach Todd Monken addressed the quarterback distribution, acknowledging the decision was expected. He explained that the coaching staff was "just rotating" who received the first reps in each set. Monken outlined the team’s plan: Sanders would get more reps on Tuesday, while the workload between Sanders, Deshaun Watson, and Dillon Gabriel would shift over the next two days of the minicamp.
"It was set up in a way for us to get a look at all of them," Monken said. "The plan was that Shedeur would have a few more reps, but let Shedeur and Deshaun each get reps with the ones."
Monken praised the quarterbacks’ performance, stating they were "in command" and that their recent classroom work translated well to the field. He emphasized that this was only the beginning of the evaluation process, which will remain a key storyline in Cleveland.
