Dolphins Select Kadyn Proctor with 12th Overall Pick
The Miami Dolphins made Kadyn Proctor the 12th overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft. General Manager Jon-Eric Sullivan recently outlined the team’s plans for the rookie’s immediate future during an appearance on The Joe Rose Show.
Proctor to Start at Left Guard Despite Tackle Experience
Proctor played left tackle during his time at Alabama, but the Dolphins intend to deploy him at left guard to begin his NFL career. Sullivan confirmed that Proctor will also "do a little bit of both" to prepare for the transition.
"Kadyn Proctor was our guy all along. We felt like he was a rare, unique talent. A man that size with the athletic ability that he has and then the versatility that he brought. We were very much in alignment with in the building. That was my guy, if he was there I was going to take him."
Offensive Line Plans for 2024 Season
Proctor’s move to left guard comes as part of a reshuffled offensive line. Jonah Savaiinaea will transition to right guard, while Patrick Paul and Austin Jackson are slated to hold the tackle positions. The Dolphins’ starting lineup is set as follows:
- Left Tackle: Austin Jackson
- Left Guard: Kadyn Proctor
- Center: Unspecified
- Right Guard: Jonah Savaiinaea
- Right Tackle: Patrick Paul
The Dolphins’ decision to draft Proctor reflects their confidence in his adaptability and potential impact on the offensive line.
