Every year, NFL Draft prospects face the possibility of waiting through the entire first round without hearing their name called. For two invited players, that reality became their Thursday night in Pittsburgh.

Defensive tackle Kayden McDonald and cornerback Colton Hood spent the evening watching their peers celebrate on stage, but neither received a selection. McDonald, however, will return for Friday’s second round, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

McDonald Remains in Pittsburgh for Second-Round Chance

Schefter reported that McDonald will extend his stay in Pittsburgh, hoping to be selected early in the second round. Last season at Ohio State, McDonald recorded 65 tackles, nine tackles for loss, and three sacks.

As of now, there is no update on Hood’s plans following his unselected status. Hood played college football at Tennessee.
