FBI Director Kash Patel has filed a lawsuit against The Atlantic, alleging defamation over a report published last week that claimed his extensive drinking had negatively affected his professional performance. The report also cited instances where Patel’s security detail reportedly struggled to wake him up during critical situations.
The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. on Monday, according to Reuters. The Atlantic has not yet responded to requests for comment.
