Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida has revealed that the development team is considering adding PvP content for the upcoming Beastmaster limited job. However, this feature will not be included at launch.
Speaking in an interview with Game Watch, Yoshida explained that the team had already explored the possibility of Beastmaster PvP during the planning phase. The limited job’s existing content is substantial enough to function as a standalone game within the MMORPG, providing a foundation for additional features.
Yoshida noted that early concepts for Beastmaster PvP included mechanics such as gambits and monster battles. The decision to implement this content will ultimately depend on player feedback after the Beastmaster job becomes available in Patch 7.5.
“We will look at player feedback to see if it’s more fun to keep raising monster allies, or if people want content that lets them mix-and-match their monsters and make them fight others.” — Naoki Yoshida, FFXIV Director
Players using the Beastmaster job will be able to summon up to three monsters at a time. If PvP content is introduced, Yoshida suggested it could resemble a 3v3 singles battle system, similar to Pokémon.
FFXIV is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. The 7.5 Part 1 patch is scheduled for release on April 28, 2026.
