Square Enix is bringing back the FFXI The Maiden’s Rhapsody event in Final Fantasy XIV, allowing subscribers to relive the crossover experience. The event will launch on May 8, 2026, and run through May 25, 2026, celebrating the 24th anniversary of Final Fantasy XI, which originally debuted on the PlayStation 2 on May 16, 2002.
Participants can obtain the Iroha equipment set, including:
- Amatsu Hachigane
- Amatsu Haidate
- Amatsu Sune-ate
- Amatsu Tekko
- Amatsu Togi
This set replicates the appearance of Iroha’s armor and is available to all races and genders, though it cannot be dyed. Players who completed the quest previously can replay it using the Seasonal Event Replay feature.
How to Start the Quest
To begin the event, speak with the NPC Remumu located at Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (coordinates: X:11.6, Y:11.2). Completing the quest unlocks the Iroha equipment set.
Additional FFXI Celebrations in FFXIV
The event is not the only homage to FFXI in FFXIV. The Echoes of Vana’diel Raids, introduced in the Dawntrail expansion, feature 24-player raids with appearances from iconic characters such as Prishe and Shantotto. These raids include numerous references to FFXI, further celebrating its legacy.

Final Fantasy XIV is playable on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The Switch 2 version of FFXIV is scheduled for release in August 2026, followed by the Evercold expansion for FFXI in January 2027.
