Joy Behar’s interview with Hugh Jackman on Wednesday’s episode of The View took an unexpected turn when she became flustered while trying to ask her first question.
Behar, who was hosting the ABC talk show, appeared to lose her train of thought as she attempted to reference Jackman’s past appearance on the show. “So last time you were here, you sang song — you sang the song from Song Sung Blue. You and Kate Hudson, uh, did that, uh in a sing-along to Neil Diamond’s —” she began, stumbling over her words.
The host first mispronounced Neil Diamond’s name before continuing, but her excitement got the better of her. She paused to joke about her own flustered state, exclaiming,
“Oh my god, you got me all verklempt! To Sweet Caroline!”
At that moment, Jackman laughed before playfully reaching over and taking Behar’s cue card to read the question himself. He only managed a few words before Behar quickly snatched it back, laughing as she said,
“Wait, wait, give me that!”
Behar continued her line of questioning but stumbled again, referring to Kate Hudson as “what’s-her-face.” Host Alyssa Farah Griffin reacted with a laugh, exclaiming,
“Lord almighty!”
Despite the hiccups, Behar regained her composure, and the interview proceeded smoothly from there. Jackman had stopped by The View to promote his new film, The Sheep Detectives.
