Hyundai has unveiled the Elantra N TCR Edition, a limited-edition version of its high-performance Elantra N, to commemorate six consecutive Manufacturers’ Championship victories in the IMSA Pilot Challenge Series. Scheduled for release in 2026, the TCR Edition introduces a moderate price increase compared to the standard Elantra N.
The Elantra N TCR Edition starts at $40,495 with the six-speed manual transmission or $41,995 for the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic. Both prices include a $1,245 destination charge. For comparison, the base Elantra N is priced at $36,845 with a manual transmission, while the automatic version adds $1,500, bringing it to $38,345.
What does the approximately $4,000 premium for the TCR Edition include? The most striking feature is the adjustable carbon-fiber rear wing mounted on swan-neck supports. Additional upgrades include high-performance brakes, 19-inch forged alloy wheels, and Alcantara interior accents. The TCR Edition is exclusively offered in Performance Blue, whereas the standard Elantra N is available in five other colors.
No Mechanical Changes, Same Powertrain
The Elantra N TCR Edition retains the same powertrain as the standard model: a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 276 horsepower and 289 lb-ft of torque. It is offered exclusively with front-wheel drive, placing it in direct competition with the Honda Civic Type R.
The Civic Type R, which also features a 2.0-liter turbo-four with front-wheel drive, delivers 315 horsepower and is priced significantly higher at $48,090, including destination.
Limited Availability and Sales Status
The Hyundai Elantra N TCR Edition is now available for purchase as a limited-edition model, though Hyundai has not disclosed production numbers. The company has been contacted for clarification, and updates will be provided if more details emerge. For buyers seeking a high-performance Elantra N without the large rear wing, the 2026 Elantra N is also currently on sale.
