Gaming keyboard technology has evolved rapidly in recent years, with innovations like rapid triggers, analog switches, and TMR sensors reshaping the market. To stay ahead, Logitech has launched its most advanced and customizable keyboard yet—the G512 X.

Available in both 75 percent and 98 percent layouts, the G512 X combines mechanical and analog switches in a single design. Every key comes with PBT keycaps and Logitech’s MX mechanical switches out of the box. For critical keys like WASD, users can replace up to nine standard switches with bundled Gateron KS-20 magnetic analog switches.

When paired with the keyboard’s 39 tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) switch beds, the G512 X enables customizable rapid triggers and multipoint actuation. The package also includes five second actuation pressure point (SAPP) rings for granular control over every keystroke. However, Logitech has limited TMR switch beds to the left side of the keyboard, which may restrict customization for users with unconventional keybinds.

For competitive gamers, the G512 X delivers an 8K polling rate, ensuring input times as low as 0.125 milliseconds. Additional features include dual dials, a large RGB lightbar, and game mode presets, all configurable via Logitech’s G Hub app.

The G512 X also includes thoughtful design elements, such as adjustable feet that double as keycap and switch pullers. This eliminates the need for additional tools when adjusting the layout. Built-in storage holds the nine included magnetic analog switches and five SAPP rings, while an optional transparent palm rest enhances the keyboard’s RGB lighting with a laser-etched surface.

Priced at $180 for the 75 percent layout or $200 for the 98 percent model, the G512 X is positioned as a premium offering. Notably, it lacks a wireless variant, unlike other models in Logitech’s G5 family. Despite its high price, the G512 X stands out for gamers seeking cutting-edge technology and extensive customization options, including the choice between linear, tactile, or clicky switches.

The Logitech G512 X is available for purchase directly from Logitech, with wider availability expected soon.
