This week, Sam is joined by Maddy Myers, editor-in-chief of Mothership and co-host of the Triple Click video games podcast. In January, Myers and co-founder Zoë Hannah launched Mothership, a queer and women-owned independent publication dedicated to covering gender and games.
During the conversation, Myers reflects on her early career in games journalism, including her time at a print alt-weekly in Boston and later at The Mary Sue. She and Hannah decided to leave their jobs to create their own indie outlet, emphasizing the importance of journalists owning their work.
