The 14th anniversary of The Avengers (2012) arrives this week, and Marvel Rivals is celebrating with a special new asymmetric PvP mode launching tomorrow.
Path to Doomsday: The Avengers Mode Details
The new mode, titled Path to Doomsday: The Avengers, pits a single player as a powered-up Loki against the original six MCU Avengers: Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, and Black Widow. The footage reveals Loki appearing larger than normal with an expanded set of powers to challenge the heroes.
While the exact gameplay mechanics remain unclear, the mode promises a nostalgic experience tied to the film that launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe into a new era.
Trailer Features Iconic Elements
The official trailer includes the iconic The Avengers theme song from 2012 and showcases new costumes for Iron Man and Loki, matching their appearances in the film. The video concludes with a recreation of the heroes apprehending Loki at the end of the movie, alongside scenes of Hulk tossing the Asgardian god around.
Future Marvel Rivals Content Drops
This marks the first in a series of planned content drops leading up to the December release of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Future modes will recreate scenes from Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.
