Director Matt Shakman, best known for his work on The Fantastic Four: First Steps, has been tapped to direct a new Planet of the Apes film at 20th Century Studios, TheWrap has exclusively learned.
The project will be written by Josh Friedman, who previously penned Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
In addition to directing, Shakman will also serve as a producer on the film, joining Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver in the production team.
