‘Kevin’ Premieres on Prime Video with an All-Star Voice Cast
‘Kevin,’ the new animated series co-created by Aubrey Plaza and Joe Wengert, is now streaming on Prime Video. The show features a star-studded voice cast, including many of Plaza’s past collaborators and industry legends.
Meet the Main Cast of ‘Kevin’
Kevin (Jason Schwartzman)
Jason Schwartzman voices the titular character, Kevin, a cat who refuses to deal with the fallout of his human owners’ breakup and instead breaks up with them. Schwartzman also wrote and sings the show’s theme song.
Known for his work in films like Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and The Darjeeling Limited, Schwartzman is a frequent collaborator with director Wes Anderson. He and Plaza previously worked together on Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010).
Dana (Aubrey Plaza)
Aubrey Plaza voices multiple characters in ‘Kevin,’ with her primary role being Dana, one half of the couple who owns Kevin. Plaza is best known for her roles in Parks and Recreation, The White Lotus, Agatha All Along, Emily the Criminal, and Ingrid Goes West.
Cupcake (Whoopi Goldberg)
Whoopi Goldberg voices Cupcake, a hairless, feral cat living at the shelter. An EGOT winner, Goldberg is celebrated for her work in Sister Act, Ghost, and The Color Purple. She also hosts The View.
Armando (John Waters)
John Waters lends his voice to Armando, a fancy Persian cat at the shelter. Waters is a legendary filmmaker known for Hairspray and Serial Mom. Plaza has cited Waters as a major influence on her comedy, and the two previously planned to adapt his novel Liarmouth to screen.
Brandi (Amy Sedaris)
Amy Sedaris voices Brandi, a sassy dog who belongs to Seth and co-runs the shelter with an iron fist. Sedaris is best known for Strangers with Candy and her voice work in BoJack Horseman.
Seth (Gil Ozeri)
Gil Ozeri voices Seth, one of the few human characters in the show and the shelter’s manager. Ozeri’s voice work includes Big Mouth and Human Resources.
Judy (Aparna Nancherla)
Aparna Nancherla voices Judy, another key character in the series.
