Meta announced on Tuesday that it is testing a new feature on Threads that enables users to tag a Meta AI account to receive answers or additional context about ongoing conversations on the platform.
This feature has drawn comparisons to xAI’s Grok, which is similarly tagged in posts on X (formerly Twitter) to provide real-time insights. However, as reported by Engadget, users quickly discovered a significant limitation: the Meta AI account cannot be blocked.
This revelation has sparked frustration among Threads users, who expected the ability to control their interactions with AI accounts on the platform.
Meta has made substantial investments in artificial intelligence as part of its strategy to compete with industry leaders such as OpenAI and Google. In April, the company launched a new AI model called Muse Spark, further emphasizing its commitment to advancing AI technology.
