The New Orleans Saints have added a new target for quarterback Tyler Shough after selecting Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Shough had publicly stated before the draft that he hoped the Saints would select a wide receiver. The franchise fulfilled his request by securing Tyson’s services.
While Tyson is regarded as a high-caliber talent, his injury history raises concerns. He did not participate in the Scouting Combine or Arizona State’s Pro Day due to a hamstring injury. However, he recently worked out for NFL teams and reportedly performed well.
Tyson’s injury issues are not new. As a freshman at Colorado, he tore his ACL. After transferring to Arizona State, he broke his collarbone. Despite these setbacks, he has demonstrated the ability to be a dynamic playmaker when healthy.
The Saints will be hoping Tyson can stay healthy in the NFL after his injury-plagued college career.
