Nissan has unveiled four custom versions of its upcoming Elgrand minivan in Japan, showcasing the brand’s expanding premium customization lineup ahead of its market debut.
The new Elgrand has not yet arrived in Japanese showrooms, but Nissan’s Motorsports and Customizing division is already teasing its vision for the flagship minivan. The Autech treatment positions the Elgrand as a sophisticated, design-focused alternative to potential sportier offerings from Nissan’s Nismo division.
Autech serves as Nissan’s in-house premium sub-brand, transforming standard models with bespoke body kits, upgraded interior materials, and optional chassis tuning. The Elgrand now joins the Note, Leaf, Serena, and X-Trail in Autech’s Japanese catalog, solidifying its role as the flagship of the family.
Elgrand Autech: Sporty Exterior Meets Luxurious Interior
The Elgrand Autech features a distinctive grille pattern and a silver front splitter with integrated blue LED lighting. Complementing these upgrades are silver mirror caps, side skirt extensions, and a rear bumper with matching details. The minivan is finished in Deep Ocean Blue and rides on 18-inch dark metal alloy wheels.
Inside, the Autech trim delivers a premium experience with black Nappa leather upholstery featuring blue quilting and stitching. Twin 14.3-inch displays handle infotainment and instrumentation, while the second row offers captain’s chairs with retractable leg rests. Nissan has not yet disclosed whether the Autech model includes unique suspension tuning alongside its visual enhancements.
Additional Customization Options: Autech Line, VIP, and Step Type
Beyond the full Autech model, Nissan is offering three additional customization packages for the Elgrand:
- Autech Line: A more subdued appearance package featuring a metal-like splitter, mirror caps, a dark metal gray grille, and alloy wheels.
- VIP: Designed for chauffeur-driven luxury, this trim features a discreet exterior and a dark-themed interior with black Nappa leather, 15.6-inch rear entertainment screens, and reading lights.
- Step Type: An illuminated side step that extends when the doors open, improving entry and exit. This accessory will likely be available across the entire Elgrand lineup.
Fourth-Generation Elgrand: High-Tech Comfort for the Japanese Market
The fourth-generation Nissan Elgrand (E53) introduces concept-inspired styling and a cutting-edge interior to compete with the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire. The minivan prioritizes comfort and is equipped with Nissan’s latest e-Power self-charging hybrid system, featuring the e-4ORCE electric AWD system. The Elgrand is set to launch in Japanese dealerships by mid-July 2026.
