Complete Overhaul of Player Character Avatars

The update focuses on a full revamp of the old models, introducing brand-new avatars with unique looks and backstories. Here’s a full breakdown of the changes:

  • 12 new character models: Players can now choose from a diverse selection of avatars, each with distinct appearances and backgrounds.
  • Visible body: All players now have a visible body during gameplay, enhancing immersion.
  • Customization options: Avatars can be tailored with hair color, clothing, accessories, and more.
  • Visible items: Teammates can see everything players are holding without needing to ask, as items are now visible on the updated models.
  • Additional cosmetics: Unlockable customization options allow for further personalization.

New Animations and Interactions

The updated avatars come with a suite of new animations, making interactions more dynamic and realistic:

  • Visible hands: Players now use their hands to complete tasks such as taking EMF readings, opening the Journal, and lighting Firelights with Igniters.
  • Realistic movements: Animations no longer include unrealistic bendy backs or similar distortions.
  • Death and revival animations: Fresh animations accompany the new avatars for a more immersive experience.

Revised Journal and Wristwatch Features

The Journal has been transformed from a UI feature into an actual item:

  • Physical Journal: Players now hold the Journal in their visible hands when using it, rather than it appearing as a separate UI screen.
  • Left-wrist watch: All players now have a watch on their left wrist, which tracks sanity levels, elapsed time per round, and microphone status.

Physics-Based Doors and Flashlight Updates

Additional gameplay improvements include:

  • Doors with physics: Doors now continue moving after being released, adding realism to interactions.
  • Left-hand flashlights: Flashlights are now held in the left hand for consistency with other tools.

The best way to experience these changes is to dive into an investigation, as most updates are best appreciated during gameplay.
