The Seattle Seahawks are drawing intense interest from potential buyers, with new names emerging after initial reports involving high-profile tech figures were dismissed.

Last week, rumors surfaced that Meta co-founder Mark Zuckerberg and retired Apple CEO Tim Cook were considering bids for the franchise. However, both individuals swiftly refuted the claims, leaving the market for the Seahawks open to other contenders.

Now, Sportico has identified two additional potential bidders vying for ownership of the team:

  • A group led by Aditya Mittal, a limited partner with the Boston Celtics, and Wyc Grousbeck, former owner of the Celtics.
  • A consortium fronted by Vinod Khosla, who recently became a limited partner with the San Francisco 49ers.

The Seahawks are expected to fetch between $9 billion and $11 billion, a valuation that would shatter the NFL’s current record. In 2023, a group led by Josh Harris purchased the Washington Commanders for $6.05 billion.

The team was officially placed on the market on February 18, 2024. Since the passing of co-founder Paul Allen, the franchise has been operated by his sister, Jody Allen. Under the terms of his estate, the team must be sold, with proceeds directed to charity.
