The Sakuna: Hinuka Junreitan mobile spin-off of Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin will shut down on July 27, 2026, following a brief five-month run. The game launched exclusively in Japan on February 5, 2026 for Android and iOS devices, and its planned PC release has been canceled.

Gameplay and Story Recap

Like its predecessor, Sakuna: Hinuka Junreitan combined combat and rice cultivation mechanics. Players guided Sakuna through a revitalization mission assigned by Lady Kamuhitsuki, this time alongside new character Hinuka. The game featured returning characters such as Tama, Koyomi, and Kokorowa, along with fresh additions.

Pre-Shutdown Updates and Campaign

In preparation for its closure, the game introduced several changes:

  • A “Thank You” campaign offering free in-game currency, easier material acquisition, and increased rice harvest yields.
  • Players who complete the second chapter unlock more challenging night exploration elements.
  • Online store purchases will be disabled on May 28, 2026.
