Samsung has significantly improved its integration with Ikea’s smart home lineup, transforming previously problematic Matter-over-Thread devices into fully native components of its SmartThings platform.

Since their launch, Ikea’s two dozen Matter-over-Thread devices—including sensors, remotes, bulbs, and smart plugs—have faced persistent issues. However, Samsung now claims to have resolved these glitches through enhanced integration, ensuring flawless performance within its SmartThings ecosystem.

This update means Ikea’s devices will now display correctly, function without errors, and integrate seamlessly into Samsung’s advanced home automation routines. The improved compatibility covers a wide range of Ikea’s offerings, such as:

  • Scroll wheel remotes
  • Smart bulbs
  • Smart plugs
  • Temperature, humidity, and air quality sensors
  • Motion sensors
  • Water leak detectors
  • Door and window sensors

Samsung stated it has "built enhanced integrations" to achieve this seamless compatibility. The company also revealed that both Samsung and Ikea conducted multiple rounds of validation to refine the integration process and eliminate prior issues.
