Veteran wide receiver Scotty Miller, who spent the 2024 and 2025 seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, has gone unsigned in free agency. Now, he is participating in the Chicago Bears' rookie minicamp on a tryout basis, aiming to earn a spot on the team’s 90-man offseason roster.

During Friday’s minicamp practice, Miller made a standout play, securing a dazzling diving catch deep down the right sideline on the final snap.

Bears head coach Ben Johnson spoke to reporters about Miller’s potential, highlighting his history with receivers coach Antwaan Randle El. "He’s got a history with [receivers] coach [Antwaan] Randle El," Johnson said. "Randle El was with him when he was a young buck there in Tampa, so there are some shared experiences. Looking forward to seeing him run around and compete a little bit. From afar, I’ve been able to see the speed, quickness. [He’s] certainly very intriguing."

Miller was originally selected in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers in 2020. After four seasons in Tampa, he played one year with the Atlanta Falcons before joining the Steelers.

His most productive season came in 2020, when he recorded 33 receptions for 501 yards and three touchdowns.
