Seattle Seahawks General Manager John Schneider confirmed this week that the team had intended to trade down during the first round of the NFL Draft. However, Schneider noted that "it takes two to tango," and the Seahawks were unable to secure a trade partner. This left the team with the 32nd and final selection of the first round, which they used to select former Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price.

Price became the second Notre Dame running back taken in the first round, following the Arizona Cardinals' selection of Jeremiyah Love with the third overall pick. He was one of only two running backs selected in the first round on Thursday night.

During his final collegiate season, Price rushed 113 times for 674 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also contributed on special teams, returning two kickoffs for touchdowns. The Seahawks' backfield has undergone significant changes this offseason, with the departure of Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker via free agency and Zach Charbonnet recovering from a torn ACL. This could present Price with an expanded role in the team's offense.
