Seth Meyers sharply mocked CNN after a cameraman appeared to zoom in on NASA Chief Jared Isaacman while former President Donald Trump joked about the size of his ears during a White House meeting.

During Thursday’s “A Closer Look” segment on “Late Night With Seth Meyers”, the comedian dissected Trump’s latest viral moment from the Oval Office. Trump told Isaacman, “If I heard a question about NASA’s future with those beautiful ears of yours.”

As the CNN cameraman pulled in closer to capture Isaacman’s reaction, Trump added, “He’s got great hearing … super hearing,” seemingly referencing the size of his ears.

Meyers responded with disbelief:

The f–k?! Don’t call him out on camera. Dude’s in the Oval Office with the president of the United States for, what I am sure is, one of the most memorable milestones of his life, and Trump decides to turn it into the Comedy Central roast of this f–king guy?!

Impersonating Trump, Meyers quipped, “Quick, ask him your question before he flaps his ears and flies away. You know, he used to carry the feather so he could fly, but then it turned out he never needed the feather.”

Meyers also directed his criticism at CNN’s handling of the moment.

“Let me just say to the camera operator, how dare you,” Meyers said. “Why the zoom? Who is doing cameras for CNN now? Is it whoever used to direct ‘The Office?’”

At that moment, Meyers jokingly told his cue card handler, Wally, that he couldn’t see the cards. Wally replied, “You can’t? They are almost as big as your forehead,” as the camera zoomed in on the top half of Meyers’ face.

Meyers then joked, “I should point out that we now share a camera operator with CNN. He’s real sassy.”

“Late Night With Seth Meyers” airs weeknights at 12:35 p.m. ET on NBC.
