On Monday night, comedian and NBC host Seth Meyers mocked Patel during his "A Closer Look" segment. Meyers joked that under Patel’s direction, the FBI acronym no longer stands for Federal Bureau of Investigation but rather:

F stands for freak-outs, B stands for beer, and I looks shocked.

Meyers displayed an image of Patel with wide eyes to emphasize his joke.

Patel’s Desperate Praise for Trump

Meyers also criticized Patel for what he described as excessive flattery toward former President Donald Trump. He played a clip of Patel praising Trump for inspiring law enforcement "24/7, 365."

"If you’re not drinking it sounds like you are," Meyers quipped after the clip. "Mr. President, sir, I love you so much, sir. Let me — you’re the best, sir, you’re the best. I f—ing love the s—t out of you, sir."

Rumors of Patel’s Firing Persist

The jokes come amid ongoing rumors that Patel may be the next Trump administration official to be removed from his position. Meyers remarked, "I’ve never been less shocked by potential firing."
