The Pittsburgh Steelers announced on Friday that they have signed three of their 2025 NFL Draft selections. The team confirmed the additions of fourth-round wide receiver Kaden Wetjen, sixth-round offensive tackle Gabriel Rubio, and seventh-round safety Robert Spears-Jennings.

These three players are the first of the Steelers' 10 draft picks to officially ink deals. The remaining unsigned selections include:

  • First-round offensive tackle Max Iheanachor
  • Second-round wide receiver Germie Bernard
  • Third-round quarterback Drew Allar
  • Third-round cornerback Daylen Everette
  • Third-round offensive tackle Gennings Dunker
  • Fifth-round tight end Riley Nowakowski
  • Seventh-round running back Eli Heidenreich

Kaden Wetjen: Fourth-Round WR from Iowa

Kaden Wetjen was selected by the Steelers with the 121st overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Iowa, where he appeared in 40 games and started seven. Over three seasons, Wetjen recorded 23 receptions for 197 yards and one touchdown.

Wetjen’s primary contributions came on special teams. He amassed 954 punt return yards on 54 returns, averaging 17.7 yards per return and scoring four touchdowns. Additionally, he returned 56 kickoffs for 1,538 yards, averaging 27.5 yards per return, and added two more touchdowns.

Gabriel Rubio: Sixth-Round OT from Notre Dame

Gabriel Rubio was taken by Pittsburgh with the 210th overall selection. He played at the University of Notre Dame, appearing in six games during the 2025 season and starting five. However, Rubio missed the final six games due to injury.

Over his collegiate career, Rubio played in 39 games, starting eight. He recorded 66 tackles, including 27 solo stops, demonstrating his versatility as an offensive lineman.

Robert Spears-Jennings: Seventh-Round S from Oklahoma

Robert Spears-Jennings was selected with the 224th overall pick. He played at the University of Oklahoma, appearing in all 13 games during the 2025 season and starting the final 12.

Spears-Jennings concluded his college career with 178 tackles, including 101 solo stops. He also contributed eight tackles for loss and recorded two interceptions over 47 games played.
