Mages has officially confirmed the release date for Steins;Gate Re:Boot, the reboot remake of the beloved visual novel. The game will launch in Japan on August 20, 2026, available on Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
Physical and digital copies will be distributed, though the PS4 and Xbox Series X versions will not receive a retail release. Spike Chunsoft will handle the Xbox Series X and PC versions, with the Steam page already live.
The Japanese release will include English subtitles, but details about a worldwide launch are pending. Mages will share further updates on the global release at a later date.
New Trailers and Enhanced Visuals
Two new trailers have been unveiled to showcase the game’s improvements. The first trailer features the opening movie, set to Kanako Ito’s theme song “Skyclad no Kansokusha”, which was also used in the original game.
A second trailer highlights the game’s new E-mote animation system, designed to enhance character portraits and make conversations more immersive. The trailer demonstrates how characters like Mayuri, Luka, Faris, Kurisu, and Daru interact with Okarin using this system.
Collector’s Editions Detailed
Mages has also revealed the different editions available in Japan:
- Base Edition: Includes the game only.
- Limited Edition: Includes the game, an art book, the soundtrack, and a Blu-ray and DVD of the Steins;Gate 15th Live – One World – concert.
- Digital Deluxe Edition: Includes the art book, soundtrack, and concert video in digital formats.
- Most Limited Edition: Includes the soundtrack from every Steins;Gate game, a piece of framed art by huke, and all digital content from the Digital Deluxe Edition.
