Sydney Sweeney’s cameo in The Devil Wears Prada 2 has been removed from the final cut of the film. According to a source cited by Entertainment Weekly, the decision was made for creative reasons.

The actress was originally set to appear as herself in a roughly three-minute scene alongside Emily Blunt’s character, Emily Charlton. In the scene, Charlton is seen dressing Sweeney as one of her celebrity clients. While the film’s production team appreciated Sweeney’s involvement, the scene was ultimately deemed incompatible with the rest of the sequence.

The source described the decision as difficult, stating that the scene “didn’t work structurally with the rest of the sequence.”

The Plot of 'The Devil Wears Prada 2'

In the sequel, Anne Hathaway reprises her role as Andy Sachs, who has advanced from a junior assistant to a seasoned fashion editor. Andy is called back to Runway magazine to serve as its features editor as her former boss, Meryl Streep’s Miranda Priestly, battles to keep the publication afloat amid the decline of print media.

The magazine’s survival may hinge on a deal with a luxury brand, involving another former assistant of Miranda’s—Emily Charlton—who holds no affection for her former boss.

No Official Response from Disney or Sweeney’s Team

Neither Disney nor representatives for Sweeney have responded to TheWrap’s request for comment regarding the removed cameo.
