During a Thursday interview on Fox News with host Sean Hannity, former U.S. President Donald Trump introduced a new nickname for Democrats: "Dumocrats."
"Because they’re dumb, I—they’re dumb. It’s D-U-M. I got rid of the B. So you’re only changing one letter, right? E goes, the U comes," Trump explained.
The remarks were shared by journalist Acyn on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on May 15, 2026.
This latest verbal gaffe follows Trump’s history of unconventional political terminology, including past labels such as "Tpublicans" and "Panicans."
Critics have raised concerns about Trump’s fitness for international diplomacy after he walked away from a two-day summit with China without securing any significant breakthroughs. His approach to negotiations was further scrutinized when he revealed that he discards agreements from counterparts if he dislikes the first sentence.
The comments come amid growing skepticism about Trump’s ability to engage in substantive diplomatic discussions, with some questioning whether he could read beyond basic sentences.
