Since Donald Trump selected then-Senator JD Vance of Ohio as his running mate in July 2024, the campaign’s official logo has prominently featured both their last names within a rectangular frame. However, recent fundraising emails sent to Trump’s mailing list have introduced a different version of the logo—one that includes only Trump’s name.

The Vance-less version of the MAGA Box logo was last used during the 2024 campaign but resurfaced in April within fundraising emails for an “Official Midterms Patriot Roster.” This logo is one of a dozen variations employed by Never Surrender, Trump’s leadership PAC, which oversees the mailing list from his most recent presidential campaign.

Branding Shift: Trump Takes Center Stage

While logos combining Trump and Vance remain in circulation, an increasing number of alternative designs and email header graphics now exclude Vance entirely. This subtle branding shift places sole focus on Trump and aligns with growing questions about who the president might endorse as a successor in the 2028 race.

Trump-Only Logos on the Rise

Trump-exclusive logos began appearing in fundraising appeals as early as January 2025, shortly after his return to office. Their prevalence has since grown significantly. According to a review of the Archives of Political Emails database:

  • March 2025: 25% of logos featured Trump alone.
  • March 2026: This figure peaked at 42%.
  • April 2026: Over 30% of logos were Trump-exclusive.

Some of these logos display Trump’s name in all-caps, while others use variations like the “Memo from Trump” header to frame emails as personal appeals—a strategy designed to strengthen the connection between the fundraising request and the president himself. Another variation, the “Trump 47” logo, places his name inside a shield.

Vance’s Diminished Presence in Fundraising Efforts

Simultaneously, the Trump campaign’s PAC has reduced its use of Vance-branded emails. In 2025, the mailing list received eight emails featuring solo Vance logos, signed by the vice president. However, in 2026, Never Surrender has not sent a single Vance-signed email, nor has it used a Vance-exclusive logo since January.

Controversial Fundraising Tactics

Never Surrender’s small-dollar email fundraising efforts have often drawn criticism for manipulative and bizarre tactics. Examples include:

  • Threatening to involve Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers against supporters who failed to complete a survey to prove U.S. citizenship.
  • Offering access to private national security briefings in exchange for donations.

These tactics are increasingly accompanied by custom logos designed to create the illusion of exclusivity and access. Recent promotions such as “Elite Swamp Drainers for Trump,” “Trump Inner Circle,” and “Trump Platinum” use fabricated group names to appeal to potential donors.
