Zenless Zone Zero’s Returning Player System Gets a Major Overhaul in 2.8
HoYoverse has announced significant changes to the returning player system for Zenless Zone Zero, set to take effect with the 2.8 update. The revamped system introduces new requirements, extended gaps between rewards, and enhanced bonuses for returning players.
The adjustments were revealed via HoYoLab, detailing key elements such as the Reset Check-in, Polychrome Supply, Upgrade Boost, and new Business Guide missions.
New Eligibility Rules for Returning Players
To qualify for the updated returning player rewards, players must first reach:
- Inter-Knot 20
- Main Story Chapter 1 – Intermission
The system now distinguishes between first-time and returning players:
- First-time triggers: Require a 14-day gap since last playtime.
- Subsequent triggers: Require a minimum 42-day gap (equivalent to skipping an entire version).
Once activated, the Back in Business event runs for 16 days and includes:
- 100 Polychromes
- Business Guide missions
- Polychrome Supply
- Reset Check-in
- Upgrade Boost
