Bentley is developing a second facelift for its flagship sedan, the Flying Spur, with a refreshed front end that mirrors the design language of the Continental GT. The updated model is anticipated to make its global debut in late 2027 or early 2028.
The latest iteration of the Flying Spur is set to celebrate its seventh anniversary in summer 2028. Following a minor refresh for the 2025 model year, spy shots of a prototype undergoing testing at the Nürburgring confirm that another update is underway.
A virtually undisguised prototype, codenamed Flying Spur Azure, reveals significant design changes. The sedan now features a pair of new headlights with a prominent LED swoosh, replacing the previous quad-headlamp setup. Additional updates include a redesigned front bumper with a split intake, a more upright grille, and revised rear bumper and taillight graphics.
The interior remains partially obscured, but a disguised passenger-side dashboard suggests the possibility of a front passenger display, aligning with trends seen in other Volkswagen Group vehicles.
Under the hood, the Flying Spur is expected to retain its current plug-in hybrid powertrain, which combines a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine, a 25.9 kWh battery pack, and an 188 hp (140 kW / 190 PS) electric motor. This configuration delivers a total output of 771 hp (575 kW / 782 PS) and 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque. Performance figures include a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint in 3.3 seconds, a top speed of 177 mph (285 km/h), and an electric-only range of 30 miles (48 km) under EPA standards.
