The Versatile Defender Evolution in FC 26 Ultimate Team lets you enhance one defensive player with substantial stat improvements. To unlock this evolution, you must first complete the Darwin Cup objective.
FC 26 Versatile Defender Evolution Requirements
To qualify for the evolution, your selected player must meet these criteria:
- Overall: Maximum 89
- PlayStyle: Maximum 10
- PlayStyle+: Maximum 2
- Rarity: World Tour Silver Stars
- Position: CB (Center Back), LB (Left Back), or RB (Right Back)

The evolution includes five upgrade levels, each requiring specific conditions to progress. Below are the stat boosts and requirements for each level:

Requirement: Play 1 match in Squad Battles on at least Semi-Pro difficulty (or Rush, Rivals, Champions, or Live Events) using your active EVO player.
Level 2 Upgrades

- Defensive Awareness: +10 (92)
- Slide Tackle: +6 (90)
- Stand Tackle: +8 (91)
- PlayStyles+: Intercept (3)
Requirement: Play 2 matches in Squad Battles on at least Semi-Pro difficulty (or Rush, Rivals, Champions, or Live Events) using your active EVO player.
Level 3 Upgrades

- Stamina: +5 (89)
- Strength: +8 (90)
- PlayStyles: Bruiser (7)
