The Chicago Sky have officially signed WNBA free agent Natasha Cloud, the team announced on Monday, May 4, 2026. Cloud, widely regarded as one of the league’s premier point guards, joins the Sky after remaining unsigned through the preseason.

“Natasha is one of the best passers and defenders in our league,” said Chicago general manager Jeff Pagliocca in a statement. “She fits in with the other proven winners on our roster.”

Cloud’s WNBA Career and Stats

Cloud was drafted in 2025 and began her career with the Washington Mystics, playing eight seasons there. She later joined the Phoenix Mercury in 2024 before moving to the New York Liberty last year. Over her career, Cloud has started 283 of 327 games, averaging 8.8 points, 5.3 assists, and 1 steal per game.

In the 2025 season, Cloud played 41 games for the New York Liberty, posting averages of 10.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.2 steals. ESPN’s Alexa Phillippou reported that her contract with the Sky is a one-year deal worth $555,000.

Sky’s Roster Overhaul and Preseason Moves

The signing of Cloud coincides with the Sky’s significant roster changes, including the waiving of second-year guard Hailey Van Lith earlier in the day. Van Lith, the Sky’s 2025 first-round pick, was cut on Monday morning despite a strong preseason performance. ESPN’s Kendra Andrews noted that the decision was based on the coaching staff’s “style-of-play preference.”

Cloud now joins a revamped Chicago Sky roster featuring Skylar Diggins, Rickea Jackson, DiJonai Carrington, Azura Stevens, and Jacy Sheldon, along with returning players Kamilla Cardoso, Rachel Banham, and Maddy Westbeld.

The team finished last season without a playoff berth but underwent a major overhaul in the offseason. The Sky went 0-2 in preseason play, losing to the Atlanta Dream and Phoenix Mercury.
