Undrafted quarterback Luke Altmyer has found an NFL home after going unselected in the 2025 NFL Draft. According to multiple reports, Altmyer has agreed to terms with the Detroit Lions, marking a significant milestone in his football career.
Altmyer’s journey to the Lions began at Ole Miss, where he spent two seasons before transferring to the University of Illinois. Once at Illinois, he established himself as a three-year starter, culminating his college career with a historic performance.
In his final collegiate season, Altmyer set a school record by completing 67.4% of his passes. He finished with 3,007 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, and only five interceptions, showcasing his precision and consistency as a passer.
The Lions already have a proven starter in Jared Goff under center. To bolster their quarterback depth, Detroit added veteran Teddy Bridgewater in free agency, who now serves as the team’s No. 2 quarterback. Altmyer’s addition provides additional competition and depth at the position.
