Beast Industries, the $5 billion media conglomerate founded by YouTube star MrBeast, is facing a federal lawsuit filed by a former employee who alleges she was subjected to sexual harassment, gender discrimination, and wrongful termination shortly after returning from maternity leave.

The lawsuit, filed on Tuesday in the Eastern District Court of North Carolina, describes Beast Industries as a male-dominated workplace where women were excluded from meetings, belittled, and told to “shut up,” while men were permitted to behave “childishly.”

A spokeswoman for Beast Industries responded with a statement shared with Fast Company, calling the lawsuit a “clout-chasing complaint” built on “deliberate misrepresentations and categorically false statements.” The company claims to have evidence, including Slack and WhatsApp messages, company documents, and witness testimony, that contradicts the allegations. “We will not submit to opportunistic lawyers looking to manufacture a payday from us,” the spokeswoman stated.

Former Employee Lorrayne Mavromatis Files Lawsuit

The plaintiff, Lorrayne Mavromatis, was hired by Beast Industries in 2022 and terminated in 2025, less than three weeks after returning from maternity leave, according to the lawsuit. The suit further alleges that Mavromatis was demoted after complaining about a hostile work environment and sexual harassment directed at her and other female employees. Beast Industries denies that she was demoted.

Allegations of Sexist and Offensive Workplace Culture

The lawsuit references a leaked document titled “How to Succeed In MrBeast Production”, which reportedly included statements such as:

  • “It’s okay for the boys to be childish”
  • “No Does Not Mean No”
  • “The amount of hours you work is irrelevant.”

Beast Industries clarified that the document is a production guidebook, not an employee handbook, and was previously leaked in 2024.

Specific Allegations Against CEO James Warren

Mavromatis alleges she was sexually harassed by her supervisors, including being forced to meet with CEO James Warren at his home, where he made comments about her clothing. The lawsuit claims Warren told her she was “too beautiful” and that her “appearance had a certain sexual effect on Jimmy,” referring to MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson).

“Jimmy gets really awkward around beautiful women,” Warren allegedly told Mavromatis. “Let’s just say that when you’re around and he goes to the restroom, he’s not actually using the restroom.”

Beast Industries called this allegation “ridiculous,” stating it exploited Donaldson’s medical conditions, including Crohn’s disease and an eye condition.

Additional Allegations of Workplace Misconduct

The lawsuit also claims that male executives made derogatory jokes about female contestants on the MrBeast and Amazon MGM Studios game show BeastGames. According to the filing, executives joked about contestants complaining they lacked access to feminine hygiene products and clean underwear during the competition.

Beast Industries did not comment on this allegation.

Background on BeastGames Controversy

In 2024, contestants on BeastGames raised concerns about inadequate food, medical care, and injuries, with some leaving the competition area on stretchers. The lawsuit does not directly link these issues to Mavromatis’s claims but highlights a broader pattern of alleged workplace and production misconduct.
