With another month of 2026 quickly coming to an end, the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 is drawing nearer. The game is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, and anticipation is building as Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive prepare for what is expected to be the most significant entertainment launch in history.

As gamers await the game’s arrival, concerns about its price have emerged. The gaming industry has seen rising costs, including Nintendo’s decision last year to price some games at $79.99. However, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has yet to confirm GTA 6’s launch price.
Speaking at an industry event for video game executives, Zelnick emphasized the company’s focus on delivering an unparalleled experience. According to IGN, he stated:
"What we think about is making the most spectacular piece of entertainment on Earth, in history – and it’s a pretty daunting challenge. If we do that, and if we’re of service to our customers, then the upside will take care of itself."
Zelnick highlighted that public perception of value plays a key role in how consumers determine whether a purchase was worth the cost. He explained:
"Consumers pay for the value that you bring to them, and our job is to charge way, way, way less of the value delivery. How you feel about something you buy is the intersection of the thing itself and what you pay for. Consumers need to feel like the thing itself is amazing and the price they were charged was fair for what they got."
The CEO acknowledged that games have typically been priced around $60 for the past decade, despite rising development and production costs. However, he suggested that GTA 6’s pricing would not follow the same logic:
"If you look at it through that lens, that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. But that isn’t the lens through which we look. Instead, we look at… how do we deliver something amazing, and how do we make sure that what people pay for it feels very reasonable."
Take-Two’s next quarterly earnings call, scheduled for the coming weeks, may provide further clarity on GTA 6’s pricing and other details. Fans could learn more about the game sooner than expected, including its final cost.
