In a celebration of Hacks Season 5, the real-life fan club of Jean Smart’s character, Deborah Vance, has taken action to honor her legacy by cleaning up a stretch of highway between Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

From now until April 8, 2027, a portion of I-15 near San Bernardino will be officially designated as the Deborah Vance Highway. The initiative includes billboards with the tagline, "Divas don’t litter," to promote anti-littering efforts.

Ahead of the season premiere, a group of superfans gathered in pink safety vests and leopard-print hard hats to participate in a trash pickup event, embodying the spirit of Deborah Vance’s character.

"I hope it will go down in television history as a really, really, really smart, really funny show. And also, one of the most unusual female friendships in film or television. I’m really proud of that."
— Jean Smart, speaking to TheWrap at the season premiere event.

The celebration continued the following day with a Sin City-themed fan screening at the El Rey in Hollywood. The event featured casino card games and a wedding chapel, paying homage to the show’s use of Las Vegas and Los Angeles as its primary settings.

Hacks Season 5 premieres Thursdays on HBO Max.
