Hollywood actors and producers, including George Clooney, Tom Hanks, and Meryl Streep, have endorsed a new AI licensing standard designed to regulate how artificial intelligence systems use a person's likeness, creative work, characters, and designs.
The Human Consent Standard enables individuals to set explicit terms for the use of their intellectual property or likeness. This includes granting AI systems full permission to utilize their content, imposing specific requirements for access, or entirely restricting usage.
The initiative builds upon the Really Simple Licensing (RSL) Standard, which was introduced last year to help websites communicate how AI systems may process their content. RSL Media, a nonprofit organization co-founded by Cate Blanchett, has played a key role in developing this framework.
The Human Consent Standard aims to provide creators with greater control over their digital identity and creative output in an era of rapidly advancing AI technology.
